The NCC Youth Council

The Naval Children’s Charity Youth Council has been set up to support and encourage the active engagement of Naval young people in the planning, development and decision making across the charity. Particularly in relation to our Life Chances programme and the opportunities offered to young people.

Our Aims and Objectives

 

  • To represent the views of young people from Naval backgrounds
  • To encourage and engage other Naval young people to get involved in projects and events
  • To work as a team to identify, address and implement change
  • To promote the importance of youth voice across the NCC and its activities
  • To work proactively with the NCC to create events and activities for Naval Young people
  • To learn from each other and engage in self-development through the council activities and opportunities
  • To have fun

Interested in joining us?

 

The youth council is open to any Naval Young person who wishes to take part and is over the age of 13. If you’re interested in joining the group, please consider the important points below:

 

  • The council typically meet online once per month, plus 1 or 2 in person meet-ups per year
  • The council is supported by a member of NCC staff
  • Council members can withdraw at any time if they feel they are unable to continue commitment to the group
  • Each council member must be willing to adhere to the group’s code of conduct
  • Applicants under the age of 18 must have parental consent to join the council
